St Carlo Acutis’ relic journeyed through the Upper Hunter bringing together students, staff, clergy and parishioners in a series of encounters that invited people to reflect on the faith of a teenager whose witness continues to resonate across generations.

At St Joseph’s Catholic College, Aberdeen, students and staff gathered to learn more about Carlo’s life, his love for the Eucharist and his deep friendship with Jesus. Joining them were selected students from St Catherine’s Catholic College, Singleton, St James’ Catholic College, Muswellbrook, and St Mary’s School, Scone, who attended the St Carlo Acutis Relic Exhibition as representatives of their school communities.

Throughout the day, students moved through a program of special presentations, the exhibition experience, small group opportunities and time in prayer before making their way to the church to venerate the relic. More than simply learning about Carlo’s story, students were invited to consider what his example might mean for their own lives. In a world often marked by distraction and noise, Carlo’s joy, authenticity and commitment to the Gospel offered a compelling reminder that holiness can be lived in the ordinary moments of everyday life.

Later in the afternoon, the focus shifted from the school to the parish community as the relic was welcomed at St Thomas Church, Aberdeen. Parishioners filled the church for Mass and the opportunity to venerate the relic, joined by 11 clergy. Together, they gathered in prayer and reverence, reflecting the deep sense of faith and anticipation that has accompanied the relic’s journey through the region.
