Catholic Schools Maitland-Newcastle

Catholic Schools Maitland-Newcastle is responsible for the leadership and support of our Catholic schools, educating over 21,000 students across 58 schools in our Diocese.

Our Catholic schools proudly serve the communities of Newcastle, Maitland, Lake Macquarie, Manning, and the Hunter Regions, providing quality education in a nurturing environment. Each student is offered the opportunity to grow academically, spiritually, physically, and emotionally.

Our mission is to develop students’ spirit, mind, body, and character through a Catholic worldview, empowering them to become confident and responsible global citizens. 

In collaboration with parents, our dedicated staff fosters Gospel values that infuse joy, aspiration, and hope into students’ lives.

St Nicholas

St Nicholas is a nurturing community that guides children and young people to develop the essential skills to thrive in a contemporary world. With services spanning early education, out-of-school care and vocational education, St Nicholas aims to instill a lifelong love of learning.

Reaching the Newcastle, Maitland, Lake Macquarie, Manning, and the Hunter Regions, St Nicholas proudly serves over 6,000 children across 12 early education centres, 34 OOSH services and offers world-class vocational education and professional development to more than 700 educators. 

St Nicholas’ strategic direction is grounded in its purpose and guided by four intersecting themes: community and partnerships, sustainability, growth and quality.
