There are some stories that continue to captivate long after the people at their centre have passed from history. The life of Fr Julian Tenison Woods is one of them.

On Sunday 31 May, the Diocesan Resource Centre hosted the launch of Julian Tenison Woods, the Human Story: Priest, Founder, Friend, a new book by Sister Jan Tranter. Bringing together Sr Jan’s writings, the publication offers readers a deeper understanding of a man whose influence helped shape the broader Australian Catholic experience.

Sr Jan is widely respected for her scholarship on Fr Julian Tenison Woods. Through her research, she has contributed significantly to preserving and sharing the story of the priest, educator, scientist and co-founder of the Sisters of Saint Joseph.

The book was officially launched by Bishop Michael Kennedy to over 100 people, marking another milestone in the ongoing effort to explore and preserve the legacy of one of Australia’s most significant Catholic figures.
