The stories that shape us
6 March, 2026Stage Two of St Bede’s Catholic College, Chisholm has been named Overall Education Award Winner at the 2026 NSW Regional Architecture Awards, presented by the Australian Institute of Architects.
The award celebrates the very best in regional architecture across New South Wales, recognising projects that demonstrate innovation, sustainability and a strong connection to place.
Designed by SHAC Architects, Stage Two builds on the College’s contemporary vision for Catholic secondary education in one of the Hunter’s fastest-growing communities.
The project delivered flexible, light-filled learning environments that support collaboration, wellbeing and contemporary teaching practice. Thoughtful siting and material choices ensure the buildings respond to landscape and climate, while creating a cohesive and welcoming campus experience.
The recognition reflects the careful planning and collaboration behind the project between the Catholic Diocese and SHAC architects, ensuring the College’s facilities keep pace with both enrolment growth and contemporary education.
A significant achievement for St Bede’s and for Catholic education across the region.
