10 February, 2026Today, at Sacred Heart Cathedral, family members, friends, staff, students and the broader community gathered to honour the life and legacy of Aunty Louise Campbell.
Her passing on Friday, 14 November 2025, continues to be felt deeply across the Catholic Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle.
Aunty Louise made an enduring contribution to our Diocese through her dedicated work within the Catholic Schools team. She was a highly respected educator, advocate and cultural leader who worked tirelessly to strengthen Aboriginal education, support Indigenous students and foster deeper cultural understanding across our school communities. Her generosity and commitment to reconciliation enriched the lives of countless students and families.
Today’s gathering reflected a life of great purpose and the deep respect held for Aunty Louise across our communities.
Aunty Louise will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of working alongside her and by the many communities she helped shape. Her legacy of inclusion, cultural respect and advocacy will continue to guide and inspire our mission.
We extend our sincere condolences to Aunty Louise’s family, friends and all who mourn her loss.
May she rest in peace.
