The stories that shape us
6 March, 2026Across our St Nicholas Early Education centres and Catholic schools, ANZAC Day brought our communities together in a powerful and meaningful way. Children, students, educators, staff and families joined local ceremonies, marches and in‑school services to honour the courage, service and sacrifice of defence personnel – past, present and future.
Our youngest learners walked proudly alongside older students, laying wreaths, participating in liturgies and engaging in age‑appropriate reflections that introduced the values of gratitude, respect and remembrance. Their involvement showed how even our smallest community members can take part in traditions that shape our shared understanding of history and service.
Seeing senior students guide and support younger peers highlighted the strong connections across our education communities and reflected the heart of our mission. Through prayer, participation and presence, our children and students not only learned about the ANZAC legacy – they lived out the compassion, unity and respect that defines the ANZAC spirit.
