15 December, 2025The Jubilee Year 2025 is drawing to a close, marking a year filled with prayer, pilgrimage and renewed hope across our Diocese. From local parish events and formation opportunities to international pilgrimages and our own Diocesan Pilgrim Walk, the year has invited Catholics across our Diocese to reflect deeply on Pope Francis’ call to be Pilgrims of Hope.
On Sunday 23rd November, we gathered at Sacred Heart Cathedral for our Commissioned in Hope Mass, marking one of the final moments of reflection and celebration in this special Jubilee Year.
On Christ the King Sunday, Bishop Michael Kennedy also led our Diocesan Mass, where the community came together to give thanks for the blessings of the Jubilee and witness the commissioning of 99 pilgrims preparing for the Australian Catholic Youth Festival in Melbourne.
It was a joyful celebration of faith and hope, with many bringing their Pilgrim Passports to receive a special Jubilee memento.
