Bishop’s Flood Appeal – Letter from Bishop Michael Kennedy
To the People of the Diocese, Clergy, Staff of the Diocesan Offices and Agencies, Schools and Parishes, and Religious Congregations, please consider supporting the Bishop's Flood Appeal - Manning Community.

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
In recent days, I have witnessed the immense resilience, generosity, and compassion flowing through our Diocese in response to the floods that have so deeply affected our communities.
While the immediate danger has eased, the impact is ongoing and the road to recovery will be long for many. Homes, schools, parishes, and businesses within the region continue to grapple with loss. Some communities are only now beginning to understand the full extent of the impact. As we look ahead, the journey of recovery will require ongoing care and practical support.
With this in mind, I am launching the Bishop’s Flood Appeal – Manning Community.
This appeal will provide direct assistance to those most affected across our Diocese, with funds directed to the local parish to provide on the ground support as people rebuild their lives. Every donation—no matter the size—will offer real hope to those in need.
In his letter to the Galatians, St Paul reminds us to “carry each other’s burdens, and in this way, you will fulfil the law of Christ” (Galatians 6:2). Whether through financial support, volunteering, or simply holding affected communities in your prayers, your response is a powerful way of living out that call.
Let us continue to be a people of compassion and action. In times like these, the Gospel is made visible not only in our words, but in our willingness to accompany and uplift one another.
More information about how you can support the cause is available in the attached flyer, and donations can be made directly on our website here. We continue to support all our services across the Diocese that were impacted in the recent natural disaster.
May God bless you for your generosity and for the love you continue to show to those in need.
Yours in Christ,
Bishop Michael Kennedy
