In Morality 101: The Joy of Christian Living in a Morally Crazy World, Fr Anthony addresses the fundamental questions pertinent to making moral and ethical choices.

Fr Anthony approaches these questions using the framework of “encounter,” drawn from the teachings of Pope Benedict XVI and Pope Francis. He believes that meaningful conversations about morality start with encountering Jesus through Scripture, the Eucharist, and personal prayer and are driven by a desire for union with God.

He also reflects on how life’s difficulties can shake our sense of connection with God. How we respond to hardship can either strengthen or weaken our relationship with God and others. Fr Anthony celebrates those who have stayed the course through struggle. But for those who have drifted from their faith (whether by choice or circumstance), he points to the image of the prodigal parent in Luke 15: God waits with open arms for anyone ready to return. That return, he suggests, is made possible by our willingness to forgive and be forgiven.
