In this engaging presentation, Fr Matthew Muller will introduce the Code of Canon Law (Codex Iuris Canonici) as the framework that supports the Church’s life, governance and mission. Far more than a collection of rules, canon law seeks to foster communion, protect the dignity and rights of the faithful, and ensure that the Church’s ministries are exercised with justice, order and pastoral care.

Drawing on practical examples from diocesan and parish life, Fr Matthew will explore how the Church is organised at the universal, diocesan and parish levels, the responsibilities of bishops, priests and lay faithful, and how decision-making and leadership are exercised in service of the Gospel.
