Hunter Community Housing

Hunter Community Housing (HCH) was established by the Catholic Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle in 2023 in response to the increasing demand for more housing across our region.

We offer an array of housing solutions including supported independent living for young people transitioning from out of home care, group homes, affordable housing, and a market residential program. Our properties are well-maintained and strategically located to ensure tenants have easy access to essential services such as employment, education and healthcare.

Leveraging the Diocese’s property portfolio and resources, HCH is dedicated to addressing the housing needs of our community through strategic growth, effective advocacy, and a firm commitment to housing affordability and support.

We understand stable housing is the foundation for people to live a fulfilling life, and our team of is passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of our tenants. We work closely with CatholicCare Social Services Hunter-Manning and other local not-for-profit partners to provide holistic wraparound support for tenants, including financial counselling, employment assistance, and educational programs. This provides meaningful connections to the community and that’s why we’re housing with heart.

Hunter Community Housing is committed to serving all in the Diocese so they can experience life to the fullest, and adopts its values of hope, compassion, justice, integrity and participation.
