Mission & Evangelisation in the Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle will be an outward-looking team that proudly chooses to be where people are in sharing the message of the Gospel with the contemporary world. Our purpose is to provide Diocese-wide leadership in accompaniment and resourcing for Catholic formation, training, and encounter. Parishes are the centre of the mission and life of the diocese.
We have committed to re-positioning the team in a way that will inspire and support our Bishop’s articulation for parishes to:
- Thrive in liturgy, worship and prayer
- Engage in genuine faith formation
- Seek opportunities for mission in word and deeds
The team now takes the form of three distinct, but collaborative groups.
The first is Mission & Evangelisation Partners (1), whose focus will be to more deeply accompany and support parish communities into the future.
