Decrees

Decrees are a method of formally communicating decisions of the Bishop or an individual with executive authority within the Church.

Promulgation of Decrees

Decrees are a method of formally communicating decisions of the Bishop or an individual with executive authority within the Church. Decrees are published in the public forum to enable those who are affected by the decision, a right of appeal in accordance with canons 1732-1739. This approach safeguards the rights of individuals and communities, as well as the authority who promulgated the decree.
