St James' Parish Church Muswellbrook Centenary
Centenary celebrations were held over the weekend for St James’ Parish Church in Muswellbrook.
The celebrations kicked off last Thursday evening with a Christmas Pageant at St Joseph's High School, Aberdeen. The following day the students of St James' Primary School re-enacted many of the important events of the parish over the last century.
On Saturday a Vigil Mass, including the children's choir, was held at St James' Church followed by an outdoor movie night and barbecue. Finally, on Sunday, with Bishop Bill presiding, a parish Mass and consecration of the Church was a fitting ending to a wonderful occasion. A Centenary book was launched after Mass and the community was able to enjoy a piece of the Centenary cake and the wonderfully presented memorabilia display.
