Special Commission of Inquiry report delayed
Margaret Cunneen SC, the Commissioner of the Special Commission of Inquiry into matters relating to the Police investigation of certain child sexual abuse allegations in the Catholic Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle, will now hand down her findings on, or before, 28 February 2014.
The report to the NSW government was due on 30 September 2013, but Commissioner Cunneen requested an extension which was granted pursuant to Letters Patent dated 28 August 2013. The Commissioner has been assisted by Julia Lonergan SC, David Kell and Warwick Hunt of Counsel and the Crown Solicitor.
