Local Catholics on ABC radio
On Thursday morning, three local Catholics from the Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle appeared on the "Mornings with Jill Emberson" program on 1233 ABC Radio, Newcastle.
Port Chaplain Rick McCosker, social justice council member Moira Gordon and Chairperson of the St Vincent de Paul Social Justice Group Pam Tierney all volunteered their time to speak with Jill about the upcoming Royal Commission and whether sexual abuse crimes within the diocese have impacted on their personal faith.
The insightful discussion provides a "grass-roots" look at the effects of child sexual abuse on parish communities and the faithful.
