Caritas Australia has welcomed Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull’s announcement this morning of a Royal Commission, to investigate the evidence presented in this week’s Four Corners program about juvenile detention in the Northern Territory.

It was a wonderful month.  I thoroughly enjoyed it.  I was out most nights. I met lots of old friends.  I made new friends.  We shared meals.  We had a great time.  But we didn’t drink any wine!

In 2016, more than $11 million was raised nationally for Caritas Project Compassion, with more than $208,000 contributed by the Catholic Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle.
