Administration Support

The Administrative Support Team supports the work of the other members of Zimmerman Services whilst ensuring the security and integrity of Zimmerman Service records, which include:

  • claims files,
  • healing case files, and
  • investigation records.

The Administrative Support Team play a vital role in supporting the Diocese in responding to compliance audits by the Office of the Children's Guardian (OCG) and NSW Ombudsman, as well as coordinating records that are collated for diocesan responses to warrants, subpoenas or other statutory compulsion.

 

Working with Children Check Clearances for Volunteers

The Administrative Support Team manages all the Working with Children Check Clearances ('Clearances') for volunteers. Most volunteers in parishes and nearly all volunteers in schools and CatholicCare are required to obtain Clearances.


The prospective volunteer who needs a Clearance will need to:

  • Obtain a Clearance number form the Office of the Children's Guardian by applying through a NSW Service Centre
  • Establish their identity with the local parish, school or programme using 100 points of identity

The local worker at the parish, school or programme and the prospective volunteer will then need to complete sections (1), (2), (4) and (5) of the Diocese's Working with Children Check Clearance Number Verification & Declaration Form.


The completed form is then sent into the Administrative Support Team who will:

  • go online to verify the prospective volunteer's Clearance number
  • enter the information into the Diocese's Volunteer Database
