The Catholic Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle is one of the region's largest employers in a broad range of industries including management, education, parish and financial administration and social services.  The diocese oversees the operation of a number of agencies including CatholicCare, the Catholic Schools Office, Catholic Development Fund and Catholic Parishes. The opportunities are wide and varied which allow for career development and progression.


The diocese spans from Lake Macquarie to Taree and as far inland as Merriwa and Murrurundi, employing more than 2000 people in the region.


The diocese, its agencies and Parishes employs many people across a diverse range of services including teaching and support, pastoral ministry, chaplaincy, social welfare, vocations, marriage, family and life, youth ministry, secretarial, accounting and financial services, media and communications and leadership. From time to time, opportunities become available to work in these areas of the diocese.
